I found myself enjoying Raini and Maddox. I liked that Raini ignored Maddox for 4 months while he spoke to her and it was nice that he instantly helped her out with the Khloe situation.
I thought that Maddox will get a Knox vibe and I am glad to report it did not happen. He did have a different vibe to Knox and he did win his fights, yay!
Raini made a good strong heroine, it was nice that she was loyal to Maddox and she protected him.

I feel like this one is the best of the spin off books after Harper/Knox's arc ended. My only real complaint is that there's so much here - the angels, descendants, how they're cursed, Raini's gifts, etc - that one book wasn't time to get into everything in any more than a superficial way. This would have benefitted from being a side series, a couple books to really dig into angels, descendents, "upper management", etc in a more detailed way. I wouldn't even have minded Raini/Maddox taking a who

I think I was expecting a little more from Maddox. He's supposed to be as badass as Knox, as mysterious, as sexy, and yet he felt a little bland. Perhaps cold is a better term. Perhaps its a Descendants thing, with their insular ways or more likely they are trying to hide their curse, though all of them being able to teleport is cool.
I really enjoyed the mystery of who was targeting Raini, and Urban Ink. Don't want to say too much as it would spoil the story.

(✮✮✮½) This wasn't my favorite of the series. While I loved Raini and Maddox as characters AND felt they were a great pairing - together their "coming together" felt off. Can't really explain the why. They both have some badass powers. I'm hoping we'll learn more about the descendents as well as Viper and his fallen gang. I'm anxious for Levi's story next!

This series…I really enjoyed the first two with Knox and Harper and was super excited to read more about the characters that were introduced. But honestly, not of the books after those first two really lived up to my expectations. I kept hoping for more. Ditto with Fallen. Not sure if I’m up for more disappointment with Levi’s book and I also got the impression that the new group introduced would also get their own series.
