This book makes you ask questions and ponder things like, what is truth. It makes you think, while neatly wrapped up in the world of magics, light and dark. Destiny, are all things known, can you change it? Your actions maybe able to bend things, or at least lead you to believe they do when in the grand scheme of things, you are just a mere little player, a pawn.

This is a great supernatural/vampire series. Much deeper and more complex than most of the other series commonly read, this one is based in Russia, and written by a Russian. The world is very different from what we are used to in the vampire genre and this has a lot of compleax good vs evil on one the level as the nature of the world and on another within the soul. While you have to wade through some things that are lost on non-native Russians, if you stick with this series, I think you will be ...more
