I wouldn't say that I was worried or even apprehensive when it came to this book. More like I was unsure. Whenever an author introduces a new aspect to their writing, like in the case of this book with a co-author, or when they introduce a new book or series there is always a little bit of an unsure feeling for the reader. We just don't know what to expect. We don't want our expectations dashed if the new thing doesn't live up to them. When it comes to this book, I shouldn't have been the least bit unsure because Annette Marie always comes through for me. I am happy to say that while this book certainly had a different feel to it, there wasn't anything that disappointed me.

First of all, I think that Annette and Rob's writing really complemented each other. Mostly because I couldn't specifically tell which author wrote which parts. Everything flowed nicely. Nothing was choppy or ever felt like I was reading something that was written by two different people. That said, it was also very obvious in an overall aspect that Rob added a certain flair to Kit's character's personality.

I really loved how this book is interconnected with Annette Marie's other Guild Codex series, Spellbound and Demonized. This book added a lot of things to the overall world of the Guild Codex. I loved getting a look from another perspective in this overall world. I loved getting a glimpse of how the MPD operates. I loved seeing other kinds of mythics and different mythic personalities.

Kit Morris's character is so easy to love. He is just the type of person that you want to be friends with. He is so easygoing and funny. I liked that even though he is at a point in his life where he is concerned about his own fate when it came to doing the right thing he was very noble. And then there is his mysterious magic. I am so excited for more Warped books so we can discover more about Kit's powers.

Overall, this was another incredible addition to the Guild Codex world. Annette Marie always slays me with her stories. I am looking forward to seeing what else Annette and Rob can come up with in future books of this series.

Holy Mothballs Batman, I'm so excited.

I've been hearing about this book for F O R E V E R, and been not so patiently waiting for it to come out, because I've never met an Annette Marie book that I didn't love.

This series is already amazing, and it is only going to get better. I'm glad we're finally getting to dive into Kit's story and see what makes him tick.

It did move a little slower, but I'm perfectly okay with that, because this is BOOK ONE in a brand new series. We need a slower pace for ...more

I really enjoyed both the other series included in the guild codex universe but not this one. The story was super disjointed and really boring. Kit ends up having a super cool power but that’s about it. Unfortunately, I will read the others since it’s tied into the universe but otherwise I would not be reading more.

What I enjoyed:
* Kit starts off as a smart ass, but he softens a bit and you learn his backstory (view spoiler)
