Now I see why I haven't re-read this book before because I still agree with the original review (from 8 years ago!), down to the rating. This is definitely the worst of all the books in the series. The only thing that's different is that I liked Néomi a lot better and I disliked Conrad a lot more. Whenever he was in one of his temper tantrums, I kept yelling:

I didn't see anything redeeming about him and this backstory of him being a vampire hunter was ridiculous. How could he kee ...more

So much better than the twisting plotline crap of #4, this next installment in the Immortals After Dark series focuses on the simple story of the lonely ghost Neomi and the recovering blood-addict vampire Conrad. The storyline is sweet and straightforward - can a non-corporeal ghost really find love? - and the characters have much more depth because of it. Thank you, Ms. Cole, for redeeming this series for me.
