I probably wouldn't have bought this for myself - the thought of chick-lit PNR kinda squicked me, to be honest. Havens has since turned me around on the entire sub-genre, but more on that later! The Demon King and I turned out to be a really fun romp with an addictive plot!

Did I love it no, did I hate it no.
I was a quick enjoyable read, enjoyed it enough that I'll think about reading the second one but would I go out of my way to recommend it, I don't know.
If your looking for a quick read that involves not having to really think about the plot then yes I would say try this book. Candace Havens characters are solid and likeable but if your looking for an intense book with lots of action and a interesting plot line with characters that have many different sides the ...more
