I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to stick with this book as Helen annoyed me a fair amount for the first 100 or so pages. But I'm glad I stuck with this book because once Helen learned who and what she was and started to embrace it, she was no longer annoying and this turned out to be quite the tale. I really liked the characters and Angelini's take on Greek mythology. I'm excited to read the next book and she how things play out! ...more

First impressions: I got hooked into this book pretty quickly. I loved the New England rustic setting and Helen and her best friend were really likable.

Lasting impressions: I'm struggling to find words. Though I didn't outright hate this book, I'm actively trying to forget that I read this one.

I have a book crush! I am still trying to sort out my thoughts. I really enjoyed this one, I struggled threw the first few chapters, but once we met Lucas and crew everything picked up, and the story wouldn't let me go until I was done. I really liked Helen, flying under the radar trying not to stand out. Watching Helen grow into "herself" was cool, and Claire made me laugh as she put pieces of the puzzle together.
