What a bore. This was one of those books where you supposed to feel bad for the characters but aren't. On the one hand, you have the heroine, making a deal with the Devil to save her child's life and in the other hand, you have the hero, who sold his soul to be famous. The heroine is more sympathetic, of course, but still, roasting in hell for eternity seems like a steep price to pay, even for your child's life. And who says the Devil will keep his bargain? Let me start by saying I bought this book for the cover and it has sat on my shelf for years now. This was a new to me author and I was really torn on what to rate the book.
I love PNR, and I love children in PNR which isn't always an easy combination to write. This book raises a lot of questions for me as a Mum and I felt for Faith, I really did. I struggled to identify with her at times though. Finn as the Hero of the tale annoyed me a lot, ok he totally p*ssed me off but...
