As I said above, for some reason Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series has never really appealed to me but I fell in love with the cover of Retribution so decided to give it a go and I'm mighty glad I did as it was amazing and one of the best books Ive read in a while and as I enjoyed it so much, I might as well check out her previous Dark Hunter novels at the library. In Retribution , we meet Dark Hunter Jess "Sundown" Brady who back in the days of Outlaws in the Wild Wild West, he was one of t

I breezed through this book because it was in very large type and I was wearing my reading glasses. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for this book.
This is the most recent case I’ve read for Stockholm syndrome. First Abigail wants to kill Jess for stuff that happened in the past. Stuff she’s been brainwashed to believe. Then after being saved from death by a plague, she loves him and wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Okay. Kind of odd for her to act that way when she was so narrow mi ...more

Maybe 3 1/2 stars. Which is pretty sad for a Dark-Hunter book.
With all due respect to SK's Native American background, this book with it's Native American theme stuck out like a sore thumb among the Greek Mythology of the Dark-Hunter bookshelf. Retribution was too much of a departure from what I like about the Dark-Hunter universe for me to really cozy up to it. I missed New Orleans and the storyline involving Nick.

Slightly different formula than most of the Dark Hunter books. This one used a lot of Native American Myths, well Sherrilyns take on it & her own versons. I did really enjoy this though.
The bonus scene at the end was the best part, you can never have too much Simi! :)
