Leashing the Tempest is a fun short in the Arcadia Bell series. Cady, Lon, Jupe and Kar Yee (Cady's friend and bar co-owner) are heading out to sea to practice Jupe's demon knack. On the trip, they discover the Capt has a secret that has come back to bite him.

This is a cute little short/novella starring Arcadia Bell and her found family. I like the interactions between the characters, especially with the teenager, and I loved Lon’s humor. The plot was interesting and kept me reading. The ending was predictable but still amusing. All in all, a nice interlude between novels.
A short story about the adventure Cady and the gang had while trying to find out more about Jupe's knack. Their story continues in Binding the Shadows.

Cute short featuring Cady, Lon, Jupe, and Kar Yee that comes after the second book, Summoning the Night. There's nothing here that is a must read for the series, but it does give a deeper look at Jupe's newly developing powers. It was a nice short to tide readers over between books.
