An apt title!

Qhuinn and Blay have a long way to go and lots of problems to overcome before reaching their happy ending at last!

Qhuinn has been rejected since birth, belonging nowhere and never fitting in, so it's no wonder he is reluctant to add yet another reason for people to hate him by accepting his feelings for Blay and their consequences.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. Qhuinn and Blay, after all the fore-play we finally get the book that many have waited a long time for. This was Qhuinn's book, first and foremost. After everything he's been through, disowned by his family, the Honour Guard, loosing his best friend, knocking up a Chosen, saving Wrath's life - you would have thought nothing else could possibly happen to him.

But of course there's always more.

This time he saved Zsadists life - because he didn't want to leave Nalla and Bella without their father an Qhuinn and Blay, after all the fore-play we finally get the book that many have waited a long time for. This was Qhuinn's book, first and foremost. After everything he's been through, disowned by his family, the Honour Guard, loosing his best friend, knocking up a Chosen, saving Wrath's life - you would have thought nothing else could possibly happen to him.

But of course there's always more.

This time he saved Zsadists life - because he didn't want to leave Nalla and Bella without their father and husband. He was hell bent on getting Zsadist back to the compound, back to his family. Because the Brotherhood was Qhuinns family. To have to face the fact that Layla was loosing their young (hands up everyone that wants to string Havers up by his nads). To find out that his dead brother wasn't dead. To re-live the nightmare of the Honour Guard, only to realise it was his induction into the Brotherhood. To face the reality of his sexuality and claim his mate.

I'm amazed Qhuinns head didn't explode. Mine nearly did just reading it.

But then you have everything else happening in the background. Assail and Sola, Xcor and Layla, the Shadows moving into the compound (that whole thing with Trez reminded me a lot of Rhev's problems with the Sympaths). Once again the ground work was laid so nicely for the next book. Beth spending time with Layla, talking about wanting young and Wrath already with his mind set that Beth will never get pregnant.

Xcor starting the ball rolling with his attempt to de-throne Wrath, using an old law that states the King must produce a full blooded heir - with Beth only being a half blood that's not going to happen. But I have a feeling that somewhere in the past Wrath must have hooked up with a full blooded vamp. Surely an heir will surface in the next book - Wrath must keep the throne. There has to be a way to work this out - for Xcor and Layla to be together.

Right now I'd just be happy for Assail to get his head out of his ass and find Sola.

A really generous 4 stars. Mostly just cause I liked that Qhuinn and Blay got their book, even though the end was super-annoying. Why do all the guys turn into such pussys when they are mated? So ridiculous. Most of the book was in fact. I'm sure its all happening for a reason, but right now I dont care about Assail or Xcor or Trez or ... Theres too many storylines where nothing much happens, we dont know where we are going, and we dont see much getting there going on either. ...more
