I thought this started off well. Caught my interest immediately and held it through the first half of the book but the second half was a mess. I don't get the D/s element, it seems to conflict with how these characters were being developed. Maybe I just missed something.

This book started out really good then it became annoying. First of all, Eve gets put into situations that should make her very afraid and she does react at all. For example, she meets the River Man and decides to take a nap! Second of all, I hate stories where the characters just meet and act like they are so in love with each other. It comes across very fake! The plot started to fizzle out towards the end and it became very boring. I won't be reading the next one.
