What Members Thought

2 ½ stars – Paranormal Romance
I'm a big Gena Showalter and LOTU fan, but this was a disappointment for me. Kane has never been one of my favorite warriors, and I just couldn't get into the story. It was too slow and dragged at times, and the Fae element didn't really interest me. The steam factor was just a low simmer and never quite sizzled. William's scenes and his sarcastic humor kept it from being a total bust. Overall, this was just an okay addition to the series. Hopefully Torin's book wil ...more

Well this was a surprise. I didn't expect to like the book based on the my reaction to the last two books. But then again, I don't remember the specifics of the last two books.
I never gave Kane much thought because he was always being left behind. I guess that was a good thing for me because he had more of a backbone than I was expecting. I found myself saying "You go Kane!" quite a few times. And just as many times did I say that, I was also saying "Oh come on!" I will say that I got a good ch ...more

This is the 10th instalment in the popular Lords of The Underworld and it was another one for the keeper shelf!
Gena has taken a long running successful series and added more layers to it, in this instalment we gained the Fae and while I enjoyed the addition, they brought a whole other level of evil to the plate with their values, traditions and disciplinary styles.
When Josephina helped Kane escape from hell she extracted a promise from him, a promise that he is determined not to keep. Josephin ...more

The Darkest Craving is Kane's story. He carries Disaster. His demon "caused catastrophes everywhere Kane went". For this and other reasons, Josephina Aisling (a Fae) finds him very attractive. She's learned about and followed the Lords' lives by reading centuries worth of stories created by the Fae scribes based on information received from spies who follow the warriors. The Lords are "... stars of the best and worst soap opera in Séduire, the realm of the Fae."

I wanted to really like this book...I tried to make myself justify a 4-star rating...I couldn’t make it happen. I love the Lords of the Underworld and have been happily anticipating Kane’s installment. Although Kane isn’t present in much of the previous books, he does pop up here and there...and I always loved him. He had a sweet, gentle disposition despite housing the demon of disaster. One thing that threw me from the start was the horrible animosity between the demon and host. Don’t get me wr
