Blood Secrets is the start of a paranormal series about crime scene investigators in Necropolis, a modern-day city of vampires, werewolves, and witches, closed off to the rest of humanity and situated smack-dab in the middle o' Texas. The closed-off city, the mutual mistrust and prejudices of the humans and the paranormals reminded me of the television series about those aliens with spotted heads with names like San Francisco.
