Through This House - Seanan McGuire:

A short story about Toby's first visit to her new Knowe. As usual, she runs into trouble but manages to get out of it by being who she is and accepting other unfortunate souls in a place that will be her first home.

This was a pretty uneven anthology for me. There were some stories I loved, some that were pretty good, and some that I didn't like very much.

"If I Had a Hammer" Charlaine Harris - a story from the Sookieverse. It was just okay. It had nothing to do with the plot of the novels, so you don't have to worry about missing important information if you don't read it (unlike some of her other short stories). ★★

"Wizard Home Security" Victor Gischler - this one started out slow, but was a lot of fun once

Okay the cover is a little hokey, but in a humorous way. This should be interesting. I've been looking forward to reading this book for a while, but just haven't been in the right mood for an anthology. Plus my librarian hates me; it's okay because the feeling is mutual!

If I Had a Hammer, Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse #11.1)
I really wasn't surprised by the outcome of this story. Harris' work is all starting to blur together for me. I could have sworn something similar happened in one of th

A book away from an episode of hoarders
I wanted to read this book for both Charlaine Harris and Stacia Kane's stories. The Sookie story wasn't bad and Downside was a nice place to revisit (I did miss Terrible). I loved the stories by Rochelle Krich and Suzanne McLeod (now I have to check out the Spellcracker series) and I also enjoyed the stories by James Grady and E.E. Knight. The other stories were okay but they won't stick with me. ...more
