This was another book I read because of Booktok. I think it's booktok but not 100% sure. I find these short book videos on my Facebook feed and I have watched A LOT of them. Maybe to many. Then I request books from the library or buy them. In this case I bought this book but I'm not sure I'll be buying the rest of the trilogy. If they are on my KU I will get them that way for sure.

Shelves: fantasy, own-bought-ebook, young-adult, 2013-books-read

This was slow, plodding, and at times painful. So why 3 stars? Because the setting and characters were just interesting enough for me to like them. I debated giving it 2 stars, and maybe that is more just, but I liked the action stuff and especially the bits at Eton so I can't say I disliked the book overall. I'll have to ponder it some more before I decide whether to keep reading the trilogy, but for now I'm mostly disappointed. I wanted this to be great. ...more
