If the last couple of books were the start of this series, I probably wouldn't have continued. That being said, I really like Kitty and her pack. They are interesting and fun to read about. This entry? Not so much. Like the last one, NOTHING MUCH HAPPENS. Kitty in the Underworld has the distinction of being, IMO, the weakest book yet in this series.
Summary: Kitty gets kidnapped. Sits in cave and thinks to herself. A lot of the dialogue is inner. Once again, towards the end, things pick up. Her p ...more

Shelves: own, shifters, pnr-uf, carrie-vaughn

Kitty is kidnapped by a crazy bunch of people who hate Roman, Dux Bellorum, as much as she does. They hide out underground in a silver mine and the claustrophobic and scary atmosphere created by Ms Vaughn was well done.

The various mythologies intertwined in the story, including Persphone and the Underworld contributed to the feel.

But I missed Ben and Cormac/Amelia who only bookended all the action. I'm sure if we had some alternate chapters of them frantically trying to find Kitty, it would have ...more
