Re-Read: July 2024
I enjoyed Ash and Janvier's story the second time around as much as I did the first. And, I loved Naasir's bits; I'm looking forward to re-reading his story next.

First Read: Nov 2014
I have enjoyed the play between Ash, the Guild hunter, and Janvier, the Cajun vamp, ever since reading their short, Angels' Pawn. So, it was nice to see them find their HEA in one another. Book 7 and I'm still loving the series, it's going from strength to strength and I am enjoying every single word.

I liked Ashwini in Angel's Pawn, but I loved getting to know her better in this one. Her secrets surprised me and I enjoyed catching up with everyone again. I really like Janvier too and the two of them work well as a couple.

I truly think Naasir is going to be my favourite character in the whole series though. I am intrigued. ...more

The previous one did feature Elena and Raphael as the lead couple. Yet, it also peeked at other relevant things that went on with other people. But in this one, we are shown an even broader view. Sure, we get Janvier and Ashwini's POVs, but we also read parts in Dmitri, Elena, and Felicity's voices. I like this 360 view and more than that, I liked that it leaves less room for all the sex parts.

This was the worst book in this series (so far). Janvier and Ash, to me, are just boring and uninteresting. If not for the aspects of the other characters in this book, ones that we have grown to love and others we are still getting to know (especially Aodhan and Naasir), this book would have been god awful. It pains me to write such a review for this author because she is one of my absolute favorites, but I must be honest and this book for me was a huge letdown.
