I'd actually give this a 4.5. It was remarkably effective. I can't remember the last time I teared up for a book and I had a hard time maintaining my cool with this one. A wonderful portrayal of a redeemed villainess heroine. This book is about fear. About what makes a bully and what makes a victim. I think the author is spot on in her portrayal of the mindset that occurs when groups of teens (or people) come together (think lord of the flies only with a group of girls and set in a high school).

I received this in a holiday exchange some time ago and just hadn't gotten around to reading it until now (I really do love reading on my Nook and sadly rarely read an actual paper book anymore). I thought this was really well written! The characters were very interesting and the story was (sadly) believable.
I would recommend this to any YA lovers out there. ...more
