[close] If you are looking for a challenge, this is the book for you. A Crack in the Edge of the World tells the story of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Mr. Winchester brings in the geological, sociological, historical and other effects to make this a complete history. At times I thought I was sitting in a college lecture. But it was an interesting topic and you really did learn about earthquakes. I would read another of Simon Winchester's books but I would probably take a break first for a lighter read.
