The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure is a suspenseful WWII book with a slightly different twist. The protagonist is a self-centered architect who changes over the course of the novel. He wasn’t overly likeable at the beginning but by the end you were cheering for him. The story was quite interesting and makes you wonder if things like it actually happened during the war. Lucien Bernard was approached by a wealthy businessman to create hiding places for Jews in various apartments. The suspense ...more

I truly enjoyed this book. I grew quite attached to the characters and liked seeing their growth throughout the book.
