I cried several times and just fell in love with Mia and all those who surrounded her, "her family". It's a truly touching and a wonderful story. I liked the way it switched back and forth, it made the pace faster for me, even though Forman moves from repeatedly past to present the story remains fluid and engaging. The depth of the emotions that Mia must navigate through is beautifully written. I really enjoyed the emotional journey through this book and would read others by Gayle Forman. From t ...more

Shelves: ya, tissue-box

I listed to this as an audio book and the narrator was FANTASTIC. Seriously, some very good voice acting which truly added to some of the more moving parts of the story. She may have been the main reason that I actually teared up about 3 or 4 separate times during this book.

At times the main character's family felt almost too good to be true, but I was willing to try to overlook this fact simply because I want to believe that there are families that loving and forward thinking.

I'm glad I hadn't known that this book dealt with death and the state between life and death, and whether or not a person would have a choice or say in whether they lived or passed on if they had been in a tragic accident. That kind of story would probably not have interested me.
