2018 Just finished this again with my husband in prep for book three in May. It was so fun to read it to the hubs again. He kept saying at especially good parts, "I don't remember any of this. Read on!" Loved it. Now on to Torch. Yay!!

Yes. I really did read this one more time. Five times. I really should stop. But it's just so good. (Oct. 2015)

Listening to this story was such a fabulous way to experience the detail perfect story for a third time. I'm totally in love with this story. Three time i

A little predictable, but Tahir weaves together characters in a complex and interesting world that made me not want to put it down! I particularly liked that Laia, while a main character, struggled with fear and strong self preservation instincts. In so many of these YA books the characters are so immediately selfless! Great story and a well written one. Characters are multifaceted and interesting. Reminiscent of the "Divergent" and "Hunger Games" books. ...more

I fell into this book after wandering around following after this author for a good long time, and I was delightfully surprised at a good number of the topics it covered. I like that our main characters were one from a deep marginalized minority, and another from inside the terrorizing group as someone who does not believe in it at all.

I'm very curious to see just where this series will go and the kind of revelations that are going to come out it.
