Thanks to this book I got out of my reading slump, that started since January 2016. Thanks to the plot, the characters I could finish a book without putting down and forgetting about it.
Maybe it is my Greek heritage and that this book returned me to my elementary years that were long time ago. I love the Greek mythology and the way Rick Riordan wrote it, it is very captivating from the first sentence. I was hooked even though this book is written for a younger audience. I can certainly see adult

I loved this book. I bought it on a whim because I've always been interested in mythology and read it in a day. I didn't want to put it down until I was done. I loaned it to my 13 year old godson and he loved it as well. As did his mom who read it next. I don't usually write reviews and this isn't one so much as a statement of opinion but I definitely recommend it.

Just read it for the fifth time and it's still great!

Well, this young listener was enthralled with the book just like I was with the movie when I saw it at the show last month with Lady K. We'll be getting it on DVD when it comes out 22 Jun.
On with the book...which was better than the movie and the movie was really good. Okay, back to the book. I enjoyed my time with this as an audiobook. The narrator, Jesse Bernstein, is perfect for the voice of Percy and definitely perfect for all of the evil monsters and ambiguous gods and goddesses.
I've always

So good. Took me a day to read and now I am already stalking the rest of the series at the library.

Fun, engaging, entertaining. Good, not great, but my nephews would probably really like it.

Once again, seriously, read this series. A fast read, even at over three hundred pages. It’s one of those un-put-down-able books. You just want to know what happens next. Even though I’ve read it four times, I always read it like I don’t know what happens next. Riordan just makes his stories that exciting. Riordan is a great author and his characters are likeable kids (the good guys are anyway). I love the way he uses his books to teach kids about mythology, whether that was ever his intention o ...more

I watched the movie first, so my thought process on this one is sort of backwards. I found the movie mediocre but amusing. And by that the books is so much more detailed, intricate and plotted than the movie. The book by it self I consider "okay" while in comparison to it's movie it's "amazingly better."

I'll keep reading these and we'll see where it goes.
