What Members Thought
Wow! I am SO glad I read/listened to this AFTER I watched the film. I like the film - thought it was fairly entertaining - AND it had Sean Bean! However, now that I've read the book - I wonder how they could screw it up that badly.
Major plot points and twists were completely ignored in the movie. Needlessly so, in my opinion. I sure hope some were not put off reading the book(s) because of that movie. I really enjoyed the book. It was a wonderful homage to Greek mythology and very good at stayi ...more

I enjoyed it... but any children fantasy books are always compared to the first ones I was addicted to (Harry Potter). But overall I recommend it and currently moving on the the 2 book... its the US version of Harry Potter and obviously no wands. I Hope I continue to enjoy them, because I now own all 5 books.
