Not what I was expecting...the end was also not what I was expecting.

Imagine knowing the inner most workings of a serial killers mind, because you have been raised by one is a very different and neat concept for a book. Certainly a unique perspective for a mystery from the POV of the son of a prolific serial killer. It's a dark story because obviously, Jazz has issues related to his father and his own internal darkness.

Likes:
* Fantastic POV of trained but not a serial killer
* Howie having Jazz's back

This novel was a terrific surprise: gripping and entertaining at once, although the themes tackled, and some gory scenes, probably wouldn't be deemed as 'entertaining' by everyone. (I suppose you may say that gory doesn't go well with YA, but I didn't find them too graphic, so I guess they were alright in that regard.
