I may need a little time to digest the book. About Meridian, a teenager, who has been different from other people her whole life. Things tend to die around her. On her 16th birthday she comes home from school and narrowly misses being hit by a car. The kids behind her were not so lucky. Her parents send her off to her aunt's with not much explanation. They tell her they might never see her again and she must go for her own safety. They tell her her aunt will explain all and that she is the only

I enjoyed this story. It was recommended to me by a goodreads member, in a Pick it For Me Challenge.
The story is interesting, something I've never come across before. Meridian is an angel that helps the dying souls pass through to their own heaven. Through learning from her Auntie, she learns to deal with the stress that can cause, the grief and she tells her about the Nocti, the dark side (if she represents the light souls go to, Nocti represent the dark that tries to "steal" the souls and take ...more

Phew! Made it. Decent read. Started off eh, but finished well.
I think what most disturbed me is that the main baddie (and I'm not giving anything away, you automatically know he's the antagonist) is a preacher and keeps quoting the Bible at our heroes to make them feel/seem like they're on the wrong side. The scary thing is, the public at large tend to believe him. (The even scarier thing is, this happens in the real world every day. Just look at the ...more

Since I first saw this book, the cover and the name caught my attention. Reading what was in the inside made me want to get it. Meridian didn't know what she was before her 16th birthday. On her 16th birthday, everything changes. She has to make a journey to get to her Auntie who needs her as much, if not more, than Meridian needs her. Through her journey, she meets different people who play an important role in her life, and she must make a choice that will change her destiny. Welcome to the wo
