Well dang, that wasn’t what I was expecting! I don’t really know what I expected, but I know it wasn’t this.

And, contrary to what some reviewers have insinuated as being rom-com, ROM-COM IT IS NOT! There’s an exploration of friendships, death and grief and the many faces of love. Yes, there are some funny moments, but not an abundance. For me, it lost its spark in the follow-through.

Where do you see yourself in five years? There was only the one paranormal incident so if you aren't a fantasy fan, don't let the start of the book put you off. This was a quick read, not quite light but not as sad as it could've been. At the time, I had a lot going on in real life, so I appreciated the lightness of the writing, but some people may have thought it was too shallow. I wasn't a fan of the main character, uptight lawyer, Dannie Kohan, but everyone else was interesting or likeable.

This is a difficult one - I'm not sure how to put into words what I thought about it. It was definitely not what I expected, but then that was probably done on purpose.

The presentation of the book misled me to believe that this book is a quirky romance, and of course, as the story unfolded more, I had thoughts about where it would go (places I would not have liked if it had indeed gone there).
