I'm a huge fan of Novik's other works, so of course I had to read this one too!
There was a discussion in my bookclub about Novik's writing style and the difference between this one and her later works. Interestingly, I feel like I was able to get into this story a lot quicker than her later ones, even though I love those more.

I enjoyed this book despite the history. The camaraderie between the dragon captains was great, but totally overshadowed by the friendship and loyalty between the captain and their dragon. This book reminded me of Eragon meets the steampunk book Leviathan.
I enjoyed the audiobook and look forward to the next book.
