"There is a fine line between a saint and a witch"

It's not often I get to read this timeframe nor about the Inquisition and witch burning. I liked the characters, the storyline and even the interesting bad guys. But for all the build up, the ending felt a bit rushed. A few characters storylines just abruptly stopped and I was sad we didn't get a bit more before we left them. ...more

I'm super amused by how many people were convinced this was going to be about vampires. But... to be fair, the cover does feature a ghostly white hand and well... calling something "The Familiar" has a certain connotation.
