Once again, Henry has created a feel-good summer romance with amusing characters and a crazy situation. Daphne and Miles start out in a fake dating situationship when their respective partners leave them for each other, but in true rom-com fashion, they catch feelings.
I loved the way Miles brought out all the parts of Daphne that she sublimated while with Peter and encouraged her to really become part of their community. The stutter steps in her new friendships were realistic and I loved all th ...more

I listened to this in audio. I thought it would be a fun summer read .
I don't think I'm a straight romance reader. I need more depth. I've been sorely disappointed by a few of this author's books. I prefer Katherine Center as most of her stories have a bit of its depth.

This book had potential to be very funny, if only it embraced the fake dating trope a bit more - that scene at the winery when Daphne is there with Ashleigh was a lot of fun. And to be fair (view spoiler) ...more

This is my first Emily Henry book. I must admit that I have a hard time telling them apart. But the story of Miles and Daphne did so much for me, so I’m thankful to Ladies and Lace for picking it as the May book.
I definitely felt similar to Daphne, in that when I was left, the ‘find less’ girl used my hair color and both of them tried to rub my nose into things. Much like Petra and Peter they couldn’t read a room, or an inventive sentence.
