So I really enjoyed this story. I thought the premise of the healer and how she heals and the world that was created around that was so cool. There were just a few things about the story and the character development that felt very forced, where the characters were not acting in a way that was uniform with their nature or things fit together too perfectly. So I give a half star for plot.

I really like Maria Snyder's writing. Something about her stories keeps me turning pages and I have a hard time putting the books down. There were some similarities between this book and Poison Study, but I thought it was unique enough that I wasn't bothered.
