This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. OMG so much better than the first!! Loved it absolutely LOVED IT!!! I wasn't really positive going into this one. A lot of people told me that this one was the weakest in the series and that it wasn't very good. But I absolutely loved it. Maybe because I wasn't expecting much. The book takes place right after The Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen has returned to District 12 after winning the 74th annual Hunger Games. She and Peeta have been given houses in the Victory Village. Finally all things se OMG so much better than the first!! Loved it absolutely LOVED IT!!! I wasn't really positive going into this one. A lot of people told me that this one was the weakest in the series and that it wasn't very good. But I absolutely loved it. Maybe because I wasn't expecting much. The book takes place right after The Hunger Games. Katniss Everdeen has returned to District 12 after winning the 74th annual Hunger Games. She and Peeta have been given houses in the Victory Village. Finally all things seem pleasent in District 12 until President Snow shows up, smelling like blood and roses. He informs Katniss about the sprak she has set in the country of Panem. He warns her about her actions and what will happen if her spark sets a fire ablaze. Soon changes are afoot in District 12. A new head Peacekeeper, public displays of torture, the burning of the Hob and the pulse of electrcity that finally flows through the fence. Causing Katniss to stay inside the boundaries of District 12. Soon Katniss and Peeta are touring the Districts of Panem for their Victory Tour. While on the Victory Tour, Peeta proposes to Katniss, in order to keep her safe. President Snow wants her to keep up with showing Panem that the reason she defied the Capitol is because she was so in love with Peeta and could not live without him. But Katniss has no idea what effect her engagement will have on her 'cousin' Gale. When the next hunger games are spoken of everyone knows it to be the Quarter Quell. The Quarter Quell happens every 25 years and many more tributes are thrown into the arena. When President Snow announces that the reaping will contain the victors of the previous hunger games everyone is in shock.
Katniss and Peeta return to the capitol to begin the next hunger games. They are joined again with Haymitch, Effie, Cinna,and Portia. Some new faces are also present in these games including Finnick, Johanna, Beetee, Mags and many other previous victors. The games this time around are going to be much more difficult to survive.
The end of the book leaves us with a horrible cliffhanger, luckily I have the third book on hand. In my opinion this book was definately better than the first. Although it wasn't as fast paced as the first I still found myself flicking through the pages at a rapid rate. Out of five stars I would give Catching Fire a five because the plot took so many turns and I was never quite sure of what was going to happen next. ...more

omg if i thought first book was awesome the second is equally good...the thing but going into the arena was a little too coincidental but the fact that snow was out to get them explains it.i was team gale in the first book but im not so sure now so ive decided to be both team peeta and team gale..lolz
