A sweet fairy tale, with just enough darkness that it isn't saccharine. A bit of romance, a bit of sarcasm, a bit of royal intrigue, and a changeling child who loses his heart to a fallen star. What could be more delightful?

I really enjoyed the story and I loved the movie. This was one of those books that translated very well into a film and one of the few where I actually liked the film a little better. I just feel like I got to know the characters better in the film for some reason.
For some reason I've always avoided Gaiman. I think I'll be more willing to try something else by him after this read. ...more
