All the tension between Violet and Jay feels very familiar to me. It's more realistic that a lot of the YA novels in that no one has the guts to speak up, making everything even more awkward and everyone more miserable. I really enjoyed the story. It reminded me a little bit of Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly series, but it was different enough to make it unique.

I really really liked this book. If I could have, I would have given it 4.5 stars! I loved how the author wrote part of the book from the "killers" point of view. This book would probably get way more than 5 stars if I could give more than 5 stars!!! This author hit a homerun with this being her first novel. This was a great read- i did not want to put this book down between the relationship between Vi and Jay and the serial killer, it was very intense. For a YA book i liked how Vi was not super focused on her apprence and learning about her abilities was different as well.
