★★★★★ Wow! Adored this book! It grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I am actually reading it for the second time. I mean in a row! Amazing. IA has created a captivating world here – well three, actually: The Broken, The Weird, and The Edge – as well as characters that leap off the page and into a delicious plot and back-story. I’ll admit I was confused at first; Urban Fantasy is not my strong suit. However, I have never had this kind of dilemma before: since I wanted some clarification, did

*4.5 STARS*

I have come to really love this writing duo. Their stories are so engrossing. They write UF at it's best, and have made me fall in love with the genre all over again. I guess this series is more PNR since it features a different couple in each book? Whatever the case may be, I love their writing.

Coming into this whole new world they created in On the Edge was fascinating. The rules are different and survival is the main goal. Rose's character was strong, stubborn, and resilient. But s

(A Pick-It-For-Me Challenge book recommended by Suzanne)

This book has a strong urban fantasy feel, but in the end, turned out to be a sweet adventure-romance.

This is my first time reading Ilona Andrews and I'm definitely impressed. The heroine is strong without being overtly stubborn, the hero is arrogant but not too much, the plot is complex enough to keep me riveted, and there is enough action to make it all entertaining.

I got this in audiobook format and Renee Raudman's performance just made

Rose Drayton has wild flash magic which Weird blueblood Declan Martel wants for his heirs. He is in the Edge "courting" Rose which is a good thing considering something like hellhounds (only worse) are terrorizing the residents of the Edge, especially Rose's family. Rose's younger brothers Georgie and Jack have gifts as well. Georgie raises the dead and Jack is a changling cat-shifter. The sparks really fly (no pun intended) between Rose and Declan. He may be an opportunist but he is sexy as hel ...more

Wow!

I think the cover put me off reading this for a while (it is kind of cheesy), but it was a great story. The world is very different and very interesting. It almost reminded me of an Amanda Quick historical (the hero needing to gain her trust, the heroine over her head but determined to survive and support her young brothers) but with the different world and magic.

The story was a bit confusing at the beginning, but after about 40 pages, I was hooked and it eventually all makes sense. I love R

I love Ilona Andrews, but I was a tad reluctant to read a new series by her, seeing as I hate having to wait to read more about Kate Daniels and Curran... But it turns out this is actually a stand-alone novel in a new series, so the hero and heroine get their HEA at the end of this book, thank God!:-) I have way too many series going on! I really loved this book: you have a kick-ass heroine who doesn't trust men, and a hot capable hero who pretty much insists on having her, and a great PNR/UF pl ...more

Unexpectedly enjoyable and rewarding.

I'm not a big fan of standard romance novels, and too much PR reads like a bodice-ripper with a change of costume and vampires tossed in. Not so with this book. I'll admit that I was tentative in the first couple of chapters, but I was quickly won over. This romance was not merely about the relationship of the hero & heroine, but the relationships within an entire family, and community. And they are real, believable, and palpable.

There is a scene about 3/4
