IMHO this is classic Nora Roberts. I love that her characters aren't the mushy-gushy type. I really liked Simon's attitude towards Fiona. He felt the attraction and it pissed him off. I found that hysterical since it didn't keep him away. He found himself doing things that he didn't want to do but didn't mind doing after all. To me, that's romantic. The fact that he annoyed the hell out of Fiona and insulted her repeatedly and she found that exciting and attractive was romantic.

★★★★½ The heroine got on my nerves a couple of times (I like to bond with my heroines), but grew to like her in the end; loved the dogs and the hero!

I absolutely could not get beyond my dislike for Simon. He's a bully. There's nothing attractive about a bully.
