This series is like doing a dance where you know the steps but aren't sure which order they should go in.
This 2nd outing is even more intricate than the 1st, and we see all the characters grow a little more. The time jumping helps with this as well as the trip to Faery.
Cassie has now become the Pythia, but finds out she has a geis placed on her by Mircea and no-one is able to remove it.
Which of course sets up #3 very nicely.
Really enjoying this series, looking forward to the next book. ...more

I was a little skeptical of reading this book as I wasn't overly keen on Touch the Dark. I felt that it was a little dull to begin with but as with Touch the Dark, it got more exciting half way through. I quite like Cassie as a heroine, but she isn't my favorite. I find her indecisiveness a little annoying at times. I will probably read the next book in the series because of curiosity but I think there are more enjoyable paranormal books out there.

The action was fast and furious, with many unexpected twists. Cassie is a very interesting character, and seeing how she rises to "challenges" despite her reluctance is also quite interesting. She struggles to accept her new role in this story, which wraps up some details, but leaves many tantalizing details for the next story. Can't wait to read it!
