The fabulous Marlene Dietrich in Agatha Christie’s wonderful “Witness for the Prosecution,” the play Roarke and Eve go to see.

★★★★★ & a Wow! & a Whoa! (This is a review of the audiobook.) Susan Ericksen narrates these characters as if she wrote them instead of J.D. Robb, she knows them that well. Her narration lets us know them better, too!
Loved this one. Adore all of them, actually, but this one was extra-extraordinary. I think it is one of the best in the series. The homage to Agatha Christie ...more

Still going along with the In-Death series. I keep expecting the characters to lose their appeal but they don't. Eve trying to do something special for Roarke was a good laugh. The mystery part is fairly obvious but the character development continues.
I keep thinking that I like Eve Dallas just as she is. Then she changes and grows and I like her even more. ...more

This is a great series! I accidentally skipped #10 and read two books past it. So, 12 books into the never-ending series and I'm enjoying it still as much as with the first book. (I only say never-ending because I don't think I will ever be able to finish this series, I'm 40+ books behind!!)
I did love that Eve was able to surprise Roarke, even to the point that he didn't know what was going on. It was a major blunder on his part, but of course he redeemed himself.

This series is just so fantastic.
I love how Eve is fighting hard with all she's got not become more human, but she just can't do it. Roarke is right there to help her along, but she's just so funny when she realizes how many friend she has.
This mystery was interesting. I couldn't really put it together or figure out how it was done this time. I had bits and pieces but the final reveal was a bit of a surprise to me. The theater, life imitating art and all that was very interesting. And of course, ...more

One of the best of the series.

What better way to commit murder than in front of 3,000 people? Not a good idea when one of those people is Lt Eve Dallas of NYPSD Homicide.
Not a good idea to off the head prop guy when he tries his hand at blackmail, the pool of suspects is getting smaller.
But it is harder when everyone hated the victim and most don't hesitate to tell Eve what brilliant scum he was. It comes down to who hated him the most. And a most horrifying motive for the crime.

Another great installment to the series.
A crime committed right in front of an audience, and under the nose of detective Eve Dallas. As Eve pursued the perpetrator, the case forced her to confront her own personal nightmares.
I really, really enjoyed this book. Despite the dark moments in the story, there are also many light-hearted incidents, including Eve's attempt to create a romantic evening for Roarke, Peabody and Mcnab's relationship, the end of Eve's old computer, etc.
