Burned picks up right where Tempted ended. Zoey's soul has been shattered, and Stark, Aphrodite, and the rest of the gang are doing everything they can to restore her soul before it is too late.
Surprisingly, there is not a lot of Zoey in this book. In fact, I found it to focus mainly on Stevie Rae and her situation with the raven mocker, Rephaim. Okay, this book in the House of Night series was exceptionally good. Without revealing too much of the plot, it follows Zoey and her H.O.N. friends after the confrontation with Kalona and Neferet.
Zoey suffers a great loss and it causes her soul to shatter, leaving her in Nyx's Otherworld, broken and hopeless.
Her friends have to work together to find a way to bring her back before her physical body dies.

This book didn't grab me like other House of Night books have. There was a little too much Stevie Rae and Rephaim for my liking. I kind of wish they would both go away already. But then, I'm still mad that they made Erik Night out to be jerk. I keep hoping they will make him a good guy again in one of these books. I guess we will see what Awakened brings.

This is book number 7 in the H.O.N series and is every bit as good as the other 6. Can't wait for the next few:o)
