I have to say, I LOVE the feeling of accomplishment that I get when I get to cross a book off of my To Read List! I also love my friends out there, all over the US who will loan me a book or send me a note when I'm down. Some of my best friends are women who I've never met in Real Life. That is how I got my hands on a copy of Sophie Jordan's Firelight. It came from a friend of mine in Oregon who is as awesome as can be! She lent me her copy so I could read the ARC of Vanish that I have. That is I have to say, I LOVE the feeling of accomplishment that I get when I get to cross a book off of my To Read List! I also love my friends out there, all over the US who will loan me a book or send me a note when I'm down. Some of my best friends are women who I've never met in Real Life. Huge thanks go out to Brandi for loaning me Firelight, which I read in one day then dove right into Vanish and now has gotten me HOOKED on the Firelight books.

It sounds amazing, right? And Firelight totally delivers. I loved every moment of it. I loved that Jacinda has the ability to be strong and still vulnerable. I enjoyed that even though her mom and sister had moments where I was super annoyed with them for their behavior, in the end, I couldn't hate them. I really got annoyed with Jacinda's mom and sister, Tamra, though. Their behavior just got to me after a while. But that has to be due to Sophie Jordan's writing, she really made you identify with Jacinda and feel what she was feeling. My absolute favorite character has to be Will, though. If you've read this blog before, you know how much I love boys in books. Will just grabbed me. I really felt for him. He's like Jacinda in that he's part of something that isn't what he wants but he's just so special. Will just stole my heart. I really want him to be happy with Jacinda and I can't wait to see how Sophie pulls it off. I really enjoyed this book and loved that we could jump right into the story and build the world as we went without a ton of back story up front. This book just sucks you right in and throws you into the heart of it all. I loved this and can't wait to publish my review for it's sequel, Vanish. I'd suggest this one for readers 14 and up as there are some violent scenes and some suggestive parts.

I'm sensing a pattern with the books I've been reading lately, They are all exceptional. Sophie brings her A-game in Firelight. I read the book in a matter of less than 2 days again. Sophie introduces us to a new world of Dragons, they are called Draki. Draki are descendant from the Dragons from long ago, they live an average of 200 years and can change into human form. Holy Moly! This book is so hott is make me want to manifest. From the very first page I was stunned. I love this book and the whole plot. Everything was alive, juicy, and just overflowing with non-stop goodness.

Jacinda, I loved her. She is so strong yet sacrificed everything she could to help out her family. The drama, plot everything was just amazing to read.

Wow wow wow. This is one hot hot hot, did I mention hot book. The chemistry between Jacinda and Will is alive, it smolders away until it becomes a flaming rage.

Firelight is about the draki workd, they are descendants of dragons. Dragons who can shift into human form, the secret must be kept at all costs. Only a few books ever leave me absolutely craving the next in the series. Firelight has left me with this feeling. I can not wait to get Vanished in my hands and devour it. This book had page by page action and drama.

It starts out with Jacinda doing a very bad thing, that has many consequences, but instead of staying her mom packs up J and her sister and leaves in the middle of the night. They leave the Pride, the only home Jacinda has ever known, and the only people she thinks she can ever belong with.

Jacinda is a Draki, they are descendants of dragons, with the ability to take human form to blend in if they have to. They are hunted and need a cover. For many, many years the hunters have never figured out the draki can turn into humans. They have a home hidden in the mountains, cloaked with a mist that one of the pride can produce to conceal them. The draki take on human form in their village, and only fly at night under cover of darkness.

I was very afraid this book was going to be way under my maturity level. Instead, it is right there in the middle. It has just the right amount of young content to keep the younger readers interested, and adds things to keep the older readers in as well.

I had a few issues with the way Jacinda processed things. She knows the pride wants to use her and punish her, and the pride is close to a cult. She is a bit brainwashed, and stills wants to go back. This started to get annoying, but after a while the story changes up, and she finally realizes this is a very stupid thing to even consider.

I became very familiar with Jacinda, and started to sympathize with her missing the pride though. I found myself trying to read very fast, because I could not wait to find out what was going on.

Jacinda is a very nice person, she can not help but to put others first. I like the connections she makes with the other characters in the book. She finds a very close friend and a boyfriend, and that’s all Jacinda really needs. There are many possible plots that I started to suspect, some happened, and some either won’t or will be in the next book.

The ending not only surprised me, but has left me going crazy. It is such a big cliff hanger. Everything just kept getting so intense and then it was over. I know that I will be getting Vanished as soon as possible.

Overall, I love this book, and I am looking very much forward to the rest of the series.

Sophie Jordan did such an amazing job at bringing this story together! Her descriptions of the Draki were amazing! I could not put this book down! I even read through an entire 2 1/2 hour movie, that's how good it was! I'm excited for the second book to come out so I can see what happens with everyone! ...more

LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I thought it was unique story and even though I hated some of the characters *cough* XANDER *cough*...I loved what each one brought to the book. I so look forward to Vanish and finding out what happened.
