This is my favorite of the new Christmas books. I loved all the characters and was so eager for the resolution that I stayed up late to finish the book. And Jeffries earns an extra star from me for avoiding a too-easy, overused windup of the thread concerning the heroine's past. ...more

This was a great story. It takes place at the country estate Dower house of Pierce Waverly, the Earl of Devonmont. He has been estranged from his mother for many years. It's a good quick read but not as great as a spinoff book on the series. I highly enjoyed reading it but it just didn't seem to mesh with what he was in other books I felt. ...more
