I had some mixed feelings about Wickett's Remedy but still really enjoyed the writing style. I hope that Bee Season will be a stronger effort from Ms. Goldberg. I will let you know!
Update 5/1/08 - I just started Bee Season on the bus this morning, and so far am of two minds of it. Enjoyed this book! Mostly it's about the two adolescent kids in a somewhat observant Jewish family, the older boy is enchanted with the Hari Krishnas, and other studying words for the national spelling bee championship. It's witty and whimsical in some ways, and profound in wondering about perfection, how to make the world whole, and the path to mysticism while keeping one's sanity.

Good book....A friend suggested this book...so far I love it. It says a lot about one family's individual quests for fulfillment and how we see our secret selves versus how those who love us see us
