I'm a huge fan of Oscar Wilde and was excited to read this novel of short stories. The titular story was not my favorite - I much preferred Lord Arthur Savile's Crime. It had Wilde's witty sarcasm and unexpected twists and turns. The Portrait of Mr. W.H. was interesting, but I was a little bogged down with the Shakespearean quotes. As always, though, Wilde continues to intrigue me with his beautiful one-liners. My favorites were:
"My dear Gerald," I said, "women are meant to be loved, not to be u ...more
"My dear Gerald," I said, "women are meant to be loved, not to be u ...more

Great short story, easily read in one sitting.
