Not as good as Les Mis but great nevertheless. Though the passages about medieval Paris architecture may only interest those who adore the city or architecture in general. I personally loved the whole package. The characters are legendary and one of the best ever invented.

Great story and the writing is wonderful...for the time. The book's fault is in its over-descriptiveness. Book Three could have been tossed in my opinion. Fifty pages of description, on how Paris looked then. It dragged and dragged. ...more
