This is my fifth Dickens novel and while it is not one of my favorites of his, it is still a wonderful book and worth reading. I ended up preferring to follow the stories of the minor characters, rather than that of the main couple - Nell and her grandfather.
Nell never felt like a real person at all, which is unusual for Dickens, who is usually so good at creating true & memorable characters. She struck me as very one dimensional. Honestly, she kind of bugged me. She was so saccharine and saint ...more
