I gave it 50 pages and gave up. Nothing was going on but a whole lot of tangents and non sequiturs.
I've finally come to the realization that it's ok to stop a book if it's painful to read. I only have a limited amount of time to read - I'm 50 now so if I live to 85 that is only 35 more years of reading. Let's say I average 80 books a year, that limits me to 2800 more books. I can't waste one on longwinded nothingness!
It wasn't even bad enough - or short enough - to hate read for fun. Onwards a ...more
