One of those Christie stories I've seen as a (quality!) TV movie, but as per usual, I'd already forgotten the murderer. What I do remember from the movie is the suspense. I didn't get that much here, except maybe at the end. The story started in a kind of humouristic tone with the prickly but gentle descriptions of the characters, but then that subsided and the atmosphere changed into a more flat and slightly boring middle part, gathering pace when more murders started occurring. In the little village of Chipping Cleghorn, an advertisement appears in the local Gazette about a murder to be committed. Curious villagers gather expecting a game. Listened to it, as a way to keep me going on my walks. There's nothing like Christie, though truthfully it's a bit twisty-turny to really keep straight as an audiobook.

A great Miss Marple read, with several twists and turns. I did not see the end coming, although once I got there (of course) I could look back and see where Christie had skillfully planted clues here and there. The fact that old letters and photographs play a role in the solution pleased my little archivist's heart :)
