*Update: reread this for OBOB - Oregon Battle of the Books 2023-2024. This was a high school selection. This book gets better every time I read it :)*

Jane Austen's first published novel is a novel about novels - specifically, the gothic romances that captured the imaginations of young women of the period. The story is lovely, the characters are funny, and the drama is real. I always find myself more delighted by Jane Austen's books than I expect to be.
