Jane Austen's first published novel is a novel about novels - specifically, the gothic romances that captured the imaginations of young women of the period. The story is lovely, the characters are funny, and the drama is real. I always find myself more delighted by Jane Austen's books than I expect to be.

Leaving this to rest as well. I have an audio version, and it just makes me too sleepy at this time of the year.
Enjoyable Austen read, slightly different than her other books. It did take it a bit to get into the plot.
Was my first Austen, read back in high school. This is one that got me hooked...
I thought this book was very funny and gothic. I enjoyed it immensely!
