The spiritual progenitor to Orwell's 1984 gets off to a slow start with a long, dull info dump about the "engineering" process through which humans are created in factories in the future. The story picks up once a few characters are introduced and we see more of Huxley's future. Societal norms include pleasurable drugs to mask any unpleasant personality disorders, escapist media, the worship of youthfulness, the proliferation of consequence-free sex and the eradication of religion and literature

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is not a text that lacks reviews or opinions, and attempting to contribute to the (often-polarizing) dialogue is a bit daunting. But I did finish the book, and I do have some impressions that I feel warrant sharing.
