What Members Thought

What I liked about this book:
The setting: When I read the blurb on the back of this book I thought (that sounds pretty far fetched) but about 20 pages in I'd totally bought into the premise of the books. The distopia presented keeps everything pretty believable.
The pacing: Wow, I love how quickly this book moved along, it keeps the tension and the action going at a nice even pace all the way to the very last drop. There's hardly any let off which is probably why I finished it in about 3 days. ...more

Една от тези, книги които все се чудиш защо хората вдигат толкова много шум около тях и тъй като уважавам чуждото мнение трябваше да проверя книгата преди да бъде филмира. Не съжалявам ни най-малко. One of the best young adult fiction books I've ever read. If I were going to entice reluctant readers, I would teach them this book. Exciting, dangerous, and heroic. This future-vision fantasy shows characters at their best. I would love to teach this book.

In the ultimate game of survivor set in a dystopian world, Katniss and Peeta must see if they have what it takes to battle against the 22 other Hunger Games competitors and possibly each other to remain "the last tribute standing". The Hunger Games is an enthralling YA adventure that pulls the reader in right from page one.

This was a great book! It's a bit like Battle Royale, but better in some way. I think it's because The Hunger Games has no fluff that you don't really need to read. I wasn't even tempted to skip a word - each word had importance that I didn't want to risk missing. I'm looking forward to reading the next book!

Loved this book. It had a similiar writing style as Stephanie Meyer. It wasn't too long which was good but when it ended I just wanted to keep reading. And once again I am left waiting for the next book.
